I have a Google alert set up that sends me an e-mail anytime that "Monkey Business Bakery" appears on the web. Today I received a notice that the bakery had appeared on go city kids. This is the first time someone besides myself has submitted the bakery to some sort of listing and review service! Feels pretty good, don't know why.

Gluten Free Cookies!!!

Hi Folks,

We've recently started making Vermont Crunchies. They're gluten free cookies that are so good we're having a hard time keeping our monkey paws off of the retail supply. With ingredients like peanut butter, oats, raisins, pecans AND chocolate chips they're chewy and crunchy. These cookies are a wonderful treat for everyone, not just those that can't have gluten. So please feel free to stop in, say hi and give these little treasures a try.

Missing Mummy cake!!

So, waaaay back in October Nicole and Andrea did a cake for a little girl's birthday. Her grandmother works at our bank and before she ordered it she was telling me that she was going to order either a princess cake or something Halloween themed... She ended up ordering a mummy face cake after seeing one that Nicole had done while at school. The kids all loved it and since it was completely edible they had a great time eating the whole thing -- spiders included!

Web Site updates and THE BLOG...

Well, this blog is finally linked to the webpage. I don't know if anyone will ever read any of this, but I wanted a place to be able to tell some of the stories behind the cakes. Hopefully Nicole and Andrea will participate... They seemed willing to and fairly excited about the concept when I first mentioned it, but it has taken a few months for me to get around to actually getting this up on the website -- we'll see. 

Check back in and hopefully we'll have something to entertain you!!

Wejust wanted to thank you for our wedding cakes on October 4th. They were exactly what I had in mind - they could not have been more beautiful and they were delicious!! Everyone is still talking about how beautiful and tasty they were. Thank you for making our wedding cake absolutely perfect.

Ha! Funny thought that I would actually be able to write in a blog on a regular basis... What with the two jobs plus the bakery, I guess I could find a few minutes once a week to put something up. Maybe we'll do featured cakes... that would be great. Better than trying to update the website on a frequent basis. Anyway... welcome. This is the Monkey Business Bakery Blog.
